Where Is The Made In America Department?

Where Is The Made In America Department?

If you want to have some fun and learn something do this. Every store you go to this week, go to customer service ask them where the "Made In America" department is. If you feel ambitious ask the question to the store manager.

Don't expect them to have a "Made In America" department. Almost all goods are imported into America from foreign countries as well as more and more of our food such as seafood, fruits and vegetables, honey, nuts, meats, juices, and many others.

Our American government gave exclusivity to to foreign countries to sell their goods in America
replacing American workers on the job in America. Even where American businesses and workers tried to compete the American government did not support them when the foreign countries used unfair trade practices such as dumping, subsidizing, and not letting their currency float in the marketplace.

Most of us approve of importing goods to supplement the marketplace of American goods in America. If the playing field was level then American companies and American workers can complete successfully. But the American government did not apply the American international laws already on the books and American businesses failed and American workers were without jobs.

It even happened with food such as juices and honey which was dumped at prices lower than it cost the aliens to produce it. Many farms in America and jobs went away because they could not compete at such artificially low prices.

Our American government has made America dependent on foreign merchandise. Just try to find Made in America merchandise. Russia is using oil and gas as a political weapon on Germany specifically and the continent of Europe. America can be held up on almost all merchandise, energy, food, medicines, clothes, footwear, appliances, vehicles, and most other things.

It is happening in service related jobs also. Many computer, engineering, call center, legal, accounting, and other jobs have found their way to foreign countries with as many as 40 million additional American jobs being outsourced overseas soon.

It is time that all merchandise and services are labelled with country of origin. All imported food, medicine, and other goods must be inspected by the American government before it is distributed in America. American citizens and their pets have already been hospitalized with lead poisoning, harmful pet food, and tainted peppers.

American citizens must inform our political representatives and business that the status quo is unacceptable and that things must improve rapidly. Tell customer service that you want to find "Made In America" merchandise. Tell them that you want foreign merchandise labelled with country of origin. Tell them you will buy no foreign merchandise that is not inspected properly. Now all we have to do is to write to our elected officials.
