Ten Pesky Airline Fees

Ten Pesky Airline Fees

The article describes 10 fees you may have never encountered before if you have not travelled by air for a few years and how to possibly avoid or minimize them.

This article can save you time, money, and aggravation. It is distubing because many of the fees seem to be outlandish. Many of the fees can be paid by credit card or debit card, but some may require cash like buying soda or renting a pillow and blanket. The fare is not what you pay for the ticket anymore since most airlines also add in fuel surcharges and airport fees and possibly other things.

One has to be computer savvy to purchase a ticket on the airline's own website and possess a computer printer to print out ticket purchase documentation. And one really needs to read the rules, which may be somewhat different for each airline and departure and arrival airports.

There is already plenty of tension travelling by air already and most of the additional fees add to it unnecessarily. To avoid fees some people bring food and beverages aboard and each of us hope that it is not too disgistingly smelly or messy. Others bring pillows and blankets that add to the other things they bring on board and hopefully it is clean, odorless, and everyone does not catch a disease from it.

I am sure many are looking at alternatives to air travel such as driving or going by rail.
