Don't Buy Food From China

After the scandal of toxic additives being added to American dog and cat food by China, we now find out that some were also added to the feed of our food animals such as beef, chickens, and hogs and fish farm food. Some pet owners lost their animals and others were forced to pay vets to heal their sick animals. Now we find out that this misery is creeping into our food supply.

Bush and his Secretaries will not inspect food products from China unless there is a demonstrated severe health problem. Bush's budget for food inspectors have been chronically cut over his administration even though more food for American people consumption from overseas is increasing.

And the media has been discussing that there are additional health concerns about the exported China food arriving in America. The waters where Chinese fish farms raise fish are polluted are among other concerns.

China says it will start inspection of food exports, but it is a little too late and there is no evidence that it would be successful.

If the American and Chinese governments cannot inspect the food coming from China I certainly do not have the resources to do it as an individual either, so I am going to boycot Chinese food products. In fact I threw away a package of frozen Chinese fish fillets, I recently bousht from my local Shoprite Supermarket in New Jersey.

From what I understand, countries of origen of some ingredients do not have to be listed on the package. That is a problem because you do not know what you are eating. I think all imported food or ingredients should be listed on the label. I will notify my representatives in Washington, DC.

It is a shame that harmful products for ingestion by humans, pets, and food animals cannot be identified until people or animals get sick. And we all know that some harmful thing make us sick right away and others may take years for simptoms to appear.

I am glad that China is our friend, imagine what they could do to America if they were not.
