U. S. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao Rips American Workers

"How Safe Is Your Job?
You could lose your job to a foreign worker—not because he’s cheaper but because he has better workplace skills and discipline. That’s the message Labor Secretary Elaine Chao hears from U.S. executives who are worried about America’s competitive future.

Beyond the cheaper cost of labor, U.S. employers say that many workers abroad simply have a better attitude toward work. “American employees must be punctual, dress appropriately and have good personal hygiene,” says Chao. “They need anger-management and conflict-resolution skills, and they have to be able to accept direction. Too many young people bristle when a supervisor asks them to do something.”"

COMMENT

With the open labor policies of the Bush Administration, of enabling millions of illegal aliens and hundreds of thousands of H1 and L visa classification aliens to work in America, and the loss of tens of millions of good paying American jobs to foreign countries we have to cry foul. Americans are suffering because they are willing to do these jobs for fair salaries and benefits but the foreign labor in America and overseas are undercutting them. Many jobs in America are owned by the aliens and American citizens do not need to apply because they will never be hired. The Bush administration is swinging the supply of foreign labor higher and higher in America and the net effect is that the level of wages and benefits are also going down. Bush has never fought to keep an industry here in America; he even outsources critical national defense items.

Now we also have the U. S. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao Ripping American Workers which is unfair. Americans are starting to believe this dastardly propaganda that foreign workers are better than American workers. They are told all of our schools are inadequate. Americans are being told that foreigners make better employees than Americans.

Bush should be impeached because he is not following his constitutional responsibility to follow the laws of the United States to protect our borders and prevent illegal aliens from entering the country and to prosecute the employers of illegal aliens.

Second, the H1B and the L visa classifications were to supplement the American workforce not to replace it. When H1B and the L visa aliens start working at a job in America they are replacing an American who has been just layed off or fired. How mean and nasty can the Executive government be? Many Americans have had to work with the Aliens to teach them their jobs so they may receive severance pay or risk being fired immediately without severance pay. There is no shortage of Americans qualified, willing, and able to perform those jobs and replace the H1b and the L classification aliens in America. America must demand that all H1b and L classified aliens be sent home because they are no longer needed.

Washington is having a world wide clearance sale of all American jobs to be off-shored. I do not understand why they are doing it. While tens of millions of American manufacturing and service jobs have already left America for foreign countries, there are forty million more American jobs on the shopping block soon to travel overseas if nothing is done to stop it. I do not know where our children and grandchildren will work in America soon. Maybe we will all have to just settle for a Walmart type job someplace in America.

What is funny is that most schools in America are outstanding and our students are well educated and trained. The exception schools are immigrant schools where the local school districts refuse to rapidly teach their students English and to make them catch up in their studies to their peers in America. Most of these students in these backward school districts drop out of school before graduating.

America has always had a proud workforce. The Bush administration is trying to take that away from us. They are destroying American labor. They are reducing wage levels and benefit levels.

American students pay the highest prices for tuition for higher education than any country in the world. The Bush administration has cut grants and raised the interest levels for student loans hindering many Americans from obtaining higher education. There has been no efforts in the Bush administration to seek to reduce or slow down the annual increases of tuition across America which is several times annual inflation levels. At a national level Bush enables aliens to take American jobs while he says higher education is a state problem.

Traditional training of employees in America including tuition reimbursement to assist staff to maintain their skills has been reduced because American business has found they can reach out to hire aliens who are already trained saving major corporations million of dollars. Foreign countries provide free education for their citizens like India and China. They can also return home occasionally to become retrained for free when their skilled become somewhat obsolete so they can return to America and work a few more years.

Americans lucky to have a job start out with about $30,000 in college loans or more and do not have a safety net when they need to be retrained, especially if they have family responsibilities. And college tuition is only going higher and higher. Employers and government do not offer anything or not much.

I don't think Washington elected officials are ostriches with their heads in the sand. They know what is going on. They are not totally ignorant. They are all part of the problem. We must identify candidates that recognize the problems and have ideas on how to solve the problems.
American labor is not dead, but is lying on the mat bloodied and bruised with the referee still counting. We must act soon or else the count will reach ten and it will be over for American labor.

And I thought the U. S. Secretary of Labor was to build up and facilitate legal American labor not to tear it down. Elaine Chao you should be ashamed of yourself. Don't worry, China and India will reward you.
