$2 Price Increase for all Pizza Pies

$2 Price Increase for all Pizza Pies

My local Pizza parlor in Garwood, New Jersey posted a sign in the window that I saw last night that all pizza pie prices increased by two dollars, which is a pretty hefty price increase. It was not too long ago when a medium plain pizza was five dollars and recently it was under ten dollars. But with price increases in cheese and more recently in wheat, the price is above ten dollars. No longer do we have the luxury of pulling a five dollar bill or even a ten dollar bill out of our wallets to exchange for a medium pizza, anymore.

Buying 2 or 3 pies at a time to provide several lunches or evening snacks is probably out right now.

This is not small change and we all should be very concerned. "Scolieri said he will join bakers from around the country in Washington on March 12 to plead for help from federal agriculture officials and Congress." Maybe consumers should join the bakers. Maybe the March 12 demonstrations should include all of the other unfair price increases, such as chickens, eggs, gasoline, heating oil, bread, beef, cheese, and the rest of the endless list. Maybe the world should not be converting as much of its food into fuel.

And poorer families are suffering at the grocery store, bakeries, and fast food restaurants more than the bulk of us. they probably need big relief with extra food stamps than they receive now.

The silver lining is that America is overweight and will probably eat less while they conserve heat during the rest of the winter season..
